4-Year-Old Boy Tells His Mom He Will Wait For Her In Heaven Before Passing Away

When Nolan’s fight for survival came to an end, he didn’t focus on the prospect of death, instead emphasizing his faith. Knowing he would soon die, he informed his mother, Ruth, that he would just wait for her in Heaven.

When Nolan Scully was just three years old, he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a kind of soft tissue cancer. Nolan’s family developed a Facebook page after he was diagnosed to document the good and bad times of his journey.

Nolan, like his father Jonathan, a firefighter, aspired to be a police officer and help the community. After his son’s diagnosis, Jonathan resigned from his position. During his hospital stay, the city’s Police Commissioner made his dream come true by swearing him in as an honorary police officer. On this extraordinary day, he became Sergeant Rollin’ Nolan

There are no words to describe how painful this news must have been for the family to accept. Nolan’s mother was gathering her courage to tell her son what was going on. Surprisingly, his response demonstrated how pure and solid his faith was. Nolan was unafraid of death. He even said he’d be waiting for her in Heaven.

Nolan’s mother has shared one of the conversations she had with her son during the final days before his passing:

Mom: Poot, it hurts to breathe, doesn’t it?

Nolan: Weeeelll…. yeah.

Mom: You’re in a lot of pain aren’t you baby?

Nolan: (looking down) Yeah.

Mom: Poot, this Cancer stuff sucks. You don’t have to fight anymore.

Nolan: (Pure Happiness) I DONT??!! But I will for you Mommy!!

Mom:: No Poot!! Is that what you have been doing?? Fighting for Mommy??

Nolan: Well DUH!!

Mom: Nolan Ray, what is Mommy’s job?

Nolan: To keep me SAFE! (With a big grin)

Mom: Honey … I can’t do that anymore here. The only way I can keep you safe is in Heaven. (My heart shattering)

Nolan: Sooooo I’ll just go to Heaven and play until you get there! You’ll come, right?

Mom: Absolutely!! You can’t get rid of Mommy that easy!!

Nolan: Thank you, Mommy!!! I’ll go play with Hunter and Brylee and Henry!!”

The 4-year-old and his family made the most of the remaining time by spending it together. Nolan relished the opportunity to see and cuddle his mother while she was near by.

Ruth was granted permission to take a brief shower on the last day of his life. Her kid closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly after she shut the restroom door, she added, signaling the beginning of the end of his life.

Little Nolan was accompanied by his whole medical staff when she emerged from the shower. Ruth’s kid had fallen into a coma and had his lungs collapse while she was in the shower.

“I ran and jumped into bed with him and put my hand on the right side of his face. Then a miracle that I will never forget happened. My angel took a breath, opened his eyes, smiled at me and said ‘I Love You, Mommy,’ turned his head towards me at 11:54 pm Sgt. Rollin Nolan Scully passed away as I was singing ‘You are My Sunshine’ in his ear.”
